We proudly wish to introduce you to some of
 the professionals that call J and H Farms home.

Meet the Trainer;

Naomi Baker has a passion for training horses and riders.  She has started about 20 colts from groundwork thru their first 15 rides, and also enjoys working with older horses that have challenges they need to work thru or new tasks to learn. She’s quite willing to say that she’s not a fan of bronco busting, and likes to start a horse if possible without bucking.  If the horse is known to be a serious bucker, she would suggest a different trainer, as her rodeo skills still need some refinement.  Training has a preference of 10 hours minimum, unless just working on a specific challenge such as trailer loading.  If you would like a young horse started under saddle,a minimum block of 20 hours is required. Typically, horses are worked 5 or 6 days a week, 1 hour a day.

Riding lessons are also available, Western or English, on your horse or one of hers.  Basic horsemanship skills and safety of both horse and rider are emphasized.  Rider also will learn how to work safely around horses, halter, lead, and tack up their lesson horse. Naomi has been teaching riding lessons five years, and is certified level 4 English Flatwork and Level 4 Western in CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association http://www.cha-ahse.org).  Naomi’s goal for each horse and rider combination is clear communication, understanding, and growing towards working together as a team.  One of the key components to this is having a horse learn to trust and respect its rider, and the rider learning to be a confidant leader while being respectful of their horse.  She’s worked with groups from 1 – 12 riders at a time.  Private lessons can be scheduled with 1 or 2 riders at a time.  If you have a horse at another location, travel to your location is available, with negotiable fees for mileage.

Clinics are available at J and H Farms thru out the year.
